I'm a mother of 11 months old son. We were advised not to expose our baby to TV until he turns 2 years old. The reasoning - the graphics on the TV will deter and put off children from flash cards and reading. Too much TV will result in toddlers having short concentration span. We have been following this advise and we are pleased that our son craves to read books & gets excited during flash card sessions. In fact he insists of reading a minimum of 8 short story books at every time.

I also do not co-sleep with my boys ... i guess some mummies just wanna "bond" with their little ones (mostly first-time mummies)...by the time the baby hits 3 and when he/she is unable to sleep on his/her own, will the mummies regret ...especially if no.2 is on the way ... so try not to cosleep if possible, sleeping in same room is still ok ...

I half co-sleep with my baby. she goes to bed in her own cot in our room, and somewhere in the middle of the night, when she wakes up (and drives me nuts having to keep going to her cot), i'll bring her to my bed. and then it's good sleep all the way till morning.

I do not co-sleep with my babies as I them to be independent and to learn to sleep on their own. My 2yr old daughter nows goes to her bed automatically when she wants to sleep. My 1-yr old son sleeps on the mattress on the floor just next to my bed. On days off we'll all sleep huddled together on the mattresses on the floor at the living room or bedrooms.

i love cosleeping with my baby.. i've been doing it since 9.5mths ago (birth) i sleep better than having to get off my bed to carry my NB for feeding. cosleep, i only need to undo my top and i can get back to sleep while my baby suckles. my baby sleeps near the wall with pillows at the edge. motherly instinct will not crush the baby. i always am able to sense if he's beside me.

I find it tiring to cosleep with baby, because I will only be half asleep, afraid that baby will roll off bed or I'll roll over the baby or the papa will squash the baby. Plus baby grows a dependency on having mum beside, and will not want to sleep in own cot anymore.

It's good to cosleep with baby as it is one of the way to establish strong bonding with the baby. But it must be well manage because babies are very smart. They learn how to take over the commander role very fast...
